Advent is a time of preparation set aside by the Church to help us prepare our hearts for the coming of Christ at Christmas. The lighting of the Advent candles is a most fitting tradition for us in our time of preparation. The use of candles itself is a useful image, and each candle represents a specific virtue to focus our considerations. Pastor Nelson leads us in reflecting on the meaning of the first candle, the candle of hope!
