United Methodists from across Georgia gathered this past Saturday for the historic Unifying Conference, marking one of the final steps in bringing together the North Georgia Conference and South Georgia Conference into a single Georgia Annual Conference. Meeting both in person at The United Methodist Center in Duluth and online, clergy and laity celebrated their shared future while voting on the rules, budget, and leadership that will guide the new conference beginning January 1, 2027.
Bishop Robin Dease asked, “The question before us is not, ‘How do we get back to where we once were?’ The question is, ‘Who is God calling us to become?’”
