Hybrid Unifying Conference
September 26, 2026, at 10 a.m.
Bishop Robin Dease has set a Unifying Conference for Saturday, September 26, starting at 10 a.m. to celebrate and prepare for the formation of a unified Georgia Annual Conference. This hybrid conference will allow clergy and lay members to Annual Conference to participate in person at The United Methodist Center in Duluth or online.
On Thursday, June 18, the North Georgia Annual Conference approved the Common Table Report on the Georgia Unification Plan by a vote of 96%. The South Georgia Annual Conference voted on the same Unification Plan on June 1, with 96.6% in favor, representing a significant step forward in the ongoing unification process. Read more here.
So, what’s next?
1. August 11, 2026, SEJ Virtual Meeting
Now that both conferences have voted, the Southeastern Jurisdictional Conference will meet via a special virtual session to approve the unification.
2. September 26, 2026, Unifying Conference
If approved by the SEJ, then we will hold a special unifying conference.
3. January 1, 2027, Official Launch of the Georgia Annual Conference of
The United Methodist Church

4. June 16-18, 2027 1st Georgia Annual Conference
This will be held at the Classic Center in Athens, GA.
