In the meantime, I’d like to present some information for your thoughtful consideration. As you have probably noted in weekly bulletin updates, we struggle from month to month to meet our financial obligations as a church.
Our Financial Secretary, Becky Griffin has prepared the following chart showing the average monthly giving trends of those who contribute regularly to the church:
|Amount||Number of Givers|
With this in mind, I’d like to also present the following chart showing steps toward reaching the Biblical ideal of contributing the first 10% of income to the ministries of the church (tithing):
I ask that you prayerfully consider your giving in the coming year and think about taking a step towards tithing. I am still working on it myself.
Also, consider inviting others to church; friends, neighbors or co-workers. While the goal is to get the un-churched to come to Christ, it will also increase the number of contributors.
Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put in your lap; for the measure you give will be the measure you get back. Luke 6:38
Your brother in Christ,
