Basic and Advanced Lay Speaking Courses offered at Stockbridge UMC on two consecutive Saturdays, April 5 and April 12, 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Requires full twelve hour attendance. Cost for each course is $40. A four-hour refresher course will be held April 19, 8:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Griffin District Office for a cost of $25. Change in Meeting Day for Prayer Shawl Ministry. The Prayer Shawl Ministry weekly meeting has been moved to Mondays from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. beginning March 24, and will continue to meet each Monday through April 14 in the nursery. The change in meeting day is due to Laura Wiley, Coordinator, taking a month-long class on Wednesdays.

Clayton County Homeless Census.
Morrow First UMC will once again be sponsoring Pathways, a non-profit organization who will be counting the “Homeless Population” on Monday, February 4. They will be staging in the fellowship hall at 10 p.m. and departing at 6 a.m. Tuesday morning. Each adult Sunday school class is encouraged to provide a tray or two of finger foods for the workers (contact Dr. Judy). All organizations within the church (i.e. Sunday School, Ramblers, UMW, UMM) are asked to provide the church office with a summary of what your group does, when it meets, and other information that would entice others to join your group. This information will be put into a booklet to be given to prospective members.

Susan Adams wears many hats in the church’s Christian Education Program: VBS Co-Director, Nursery Ministries Co-Coordinator, Children’s Church Coordinator, and Youth Sunday School teacher.
Lisa Hall also wears many hats: Children’s Fellowship Co-Leader, Elementary Class Sunday School teacher, member of Chancel Choir, and founder and teacher of the English as a Second Language outreach class sponsored by MFUMC.
Susan and Lisa were presented with plaques at the September 23rd worship service by Janice Bales and Fran Valenzuela, Coordinators of Christian Education. Congratulations to two fine, deserving Christian Educators from your church family!
