Sunday School Classes

The adult classes use several types of study material, The International Lesson, Adult Bible Studies curriculum, Faith Link materials, and The Wild Truth Bible Lessons just to name a few. The classes assist with Calvary Refuge Center, the Annual Barbecue, the annual yard sale, various service projects within the community, contribute to all church-wide mission projects, and Children's Home and Aldersgate. They have socials, in-home dinners, restaurant "visits", quarterly luncheons and dinners. Please join us.

Middle and High School Youth meet on Sunday mornings at 9:45 for fellowship and study. College students meet with the Young Adults. During May of each year, students graduating from high school and from college are recognized during a Sunday morning worship service. Graduating seniors and students already enrolled in college are eligible to apply for a scholarship set up last year in memory of Mary Alice Boyd. The scholarship recipient is named in May or June; the first recipient was Nick Gailey.

There are pre-school and early primary and upper primary Sunday School classes. Rising Third Graders are presented with Bibles in the fall. Seasonal activities planned for the children include March kite flying, the Easter egg hunt, the Palm Sunday processional, Trunk or Treat at Halloween, a Thanksgiving feast, and a Birthday Party for Jesus (with gifts of socks, mittens, hats donated to a local shelter). Children play various roles in the Live Nativity Scene from shepherds to “littlest” angels.

There is always a children’s sermon during the worship hour, and younger children go from the children’s sermon segment to Children’s Church where activities, songs and learning are planned for them.

“Jesus Loves the Little Children,” and so do we at Morrow First United Methodist!
